Hello, I’m Debbie McCaffrey. I earned my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University and my undergraduate degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University . I work with couples and families, as well as teenagers and adult individuals. Areas of particular interest to me include marital discord, affair recovery work, relationship challenges, boundaries, depression, anxiety, parent/child relationships, parenting challenges, and empty nest adjustment.
My approach to the counseling journey is what I would describe as warm, inviting and most of all accepting of every individual’s unique story. I often use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method for couples in counseling sessions. I believe in working with my clients to uncover thoughts, patterns and beliefs that may be holding them back from experiencing the fulfillment that they desire.
My passion is to help my clients find the hope and healing that they deserve. I believe that every person, relationship, and family is capable of transforming their lives and even their family legacy for generations. It just takes making a commitment to the process of change and a little hard work to get there.
The counseling environment is one that will emphasize openness, genuineness, warmth and trust. I want to engage each courageous person in my office with compassion and curiosity, along with encouragement that they have taken the brave step towards wholeness and healing.
When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband of 24 years, our young adult children and our three dogs! I also love to take long walks, visiting with friends, and trying new restaurants around town.
I would be honored to journey with you as you embark on a path of personal growth, relational peace, and family unity. Let’s do this together.
